ஞானம்

கர்த்தருக்குப் பயப்படுதலே ஞானத்தின் ஆரம்பம்; அவருடைய கற்பனைகளின்படி செய்கிற யாவருக்கும் நற்புத்தியுண்டு; அவர் புகழ்ச்சி என்றைக்கும் நிற்கும்.(சங்கீதம் 111:10)

நாம் அனைவரும் ஞானமாக இருக்க விரும்புகிறோம். கல்வியாண்டின் தொடக்கத்தில் சிறப்பாக குழந்தைகளுக்கு ஞானம் தேவை. வேலையில் முடிவுகளை எடுப்பது அல்லது தனிப்பட்ட சோதனைகளைக் கையாள்வது, போன்றவற்றிற்கு நமக்கு ஞானத்தின் அவசரத் தேவை உள்ளது. எனவே, நம் வாழ்க்கையை எவ்வாறு நிர்வகிப்பது என்பது குறித்த சில பயனுள்ள ஆலோசனைகளைப் பெறுவோம் என்ற நம்பிக்கையில் புத்தகங்களைப் படிக்கிறோம், மற்றவர்களைக் கலந்தாலோசிக்கிறோம் அல்லது வகுப்புகள் எடுக்கிறோம். ஆனால், பெற்ற அறிவு உதவிகரமாக இருந்தாலும், பெரும்பாலும் ஏதோ ஒரு குறையைக் காண்கிறோம். உலகம் அளிக்கும் ஞானத்தை விட நமக்கு தேவ ஞானம் தேவை. இந்த ஞானத்தை நாம் எங்கே காணலாம்? அது “கர்த்தருக்குப் பயப்படுதலில் ஆரம்பிக்கிறது “, என்று வேதம் சொல்கிறது. அறிவின் அஸ்திவாரம், கர்த்தரை மதிக்கவும்,  அவருடைய வல்லமைக்கு பயந்து வாழவும், அவருடைய வார்த்தைகளுக்குக் கீழ்ப்படிவதாகவும் இருக்கிறது. வாழ்க்கை அனுபவம் மற்றும் கல்வி அறிவு மூலம் மட்டுமே ஞானியாக முடியும் என்று நினைத்து அடிக்கடி மக்கள் இந்த படிநிலையை, கர்த்தருக்குப் பயப்படுதலைத் தவிர்க்க விரும்புகிறார்கள். இதனால் நாம் தவறுகள் மற்றும் முட்டாள்தனமான முடிவுகளுக்கு ஆளாகிறோம். கர்த்தருக்கு அஞ்சுவது என்பது அவரது மாட்சிமை மற்றும் புனிதத்தன்மைக்காக அவரைப் போற்றுவதும், மதிப்பதும் ஆகும். கர்த்தரை முழுமனதுடன் வணங்குவதே ஞானத்தின் ஆரம்பம்.

“அன்புள்ள ஆண்டவரே, முதலில் உம்மை முழுமனதுடன் ஆராதித்து, பரலோக ஞானத்தையும் அறிவையும் பெறுகிறோம். உமக்கேற்ற வாழ்க்கையை சிறப்பாக வாழ எங்களுக்கு ஞானம் தாரும். இயேசுவின் நாமத்தில் ஜெபிக்கிறேன் பிதாவே”—ஆமென்.

Wisdom

The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever.(Psalms 111 : 10)

We all experience days when we wish we were wiser. At the beginnug of the academic year , specially children crave for wisdom. Making decisions at work or dealing with personal trials, we have a pressing need for wisdom. So, we read books , consult others, or take classes hoping to get some useful advice on how to manage our lives. But, while the acquired knowledge is helpful, often we still find something lacking. We need more than wisdom the world offers, we need Godly Wisdom. Where can we find this wisdom ? Scripture tells us that it begins with the “Fear of the Lord”. The foundation of knowledge is to honour and respect God, to live in awe of His power and to obey His Word. Too often people want to skip this step thinking they can become wise by life experience and academic knowledge alone. But, if we donot acknowledge God as the Source of wisdom, then our foundation for making wise decisions is shaky and we are prone to mistakes and foolish choices. To fear God is to revere and honor Him for His Majesty and Holiness. Reverence to God is the beginning of wisdom.

“Dear Lord, let me revere You first and acquire heavenly wisdom and knowledge. Let me gain wisdom to live life beautifully for YOU. In Jesus’ Name I pray”—Amen.
